The Berries enter today's game with a 5 game winning streak including a 1-0 win over league leading Bloomington on Saturday. Today the Berries play arch-rival Austin (actually we have never played them) in a crucial league game for the Berries.  The Berries are currently in 4th place in the league and a win today would go along ways to solidifying their playoff position.   Austin is known for their Spam and hog business so we will be looking for some hogging the plate and a hog gone good game.  The Berries latest win was a great game against Bloomington.  The Berries lead off the 3rd inning with a solid single by Erik Sveen to center followed by a hit and run single by Matt Rowley to left advancing Sveen to third.  Sveen scored on a ground out by Joe Braga.  This RBI held out as Rob Miller pitched a gem striking out 5 and scattering 7 hits.   The Berries benefited from a pickoff at 1st base and a botched squeeze play that resulted in a pickoff at third base by catcher Ryan Cohn.  The Berries have three league games remaining and have a great chance to finish fourth in the league with a win today.  The Berries Blurbs has been in the penalty box after giving my mother-in-law Rita grief over the last several installments.  She forgave me…enjoy the game.
